HD-1

The HD-1 Professional Degausser is specifically designed to erase higher coercivity media, such as hard drives and DLT tape cartridges. The machine effectively erases all metal particle formats, including Beta SP, Beta SX, Digital BetaCam, D1- D5, Travan, and all 4mm and 8mm data cartridges. Please note that hard disk drives cannot be reused after they are degaussed, as the degaussing vibrations damage the read/write heads.

The degaussing coils are vacuum dipped and baked to provide long-lasting performance. This process draws the air out of the coil and permits the potting compound to coat each winding of the coil. The coil is then baked to eliminate all vibrations which could eventually cause short circuits in the windings of the coil. Additionally, two thermal detection sensors are wound into each coil to guarantee that the operating temperature is perfectly maintained.

When in operation, the coils are cooled by a fan which is automatically turned on by these sensors located in the thermal detection device. This automatic, thermally controlled cooling fan allows the machine to be used to erase large batches of media in complete safety. Additional electrical safety is provided by a main supply fuse which automatically blows if the machine becomes too hot.

The operational voltage on this machine is 110 VAC; 50 or 60 HZ, 10 Amps, OR 220 VAC; 50 or 60 HZ 5 Amps. We carry these machines in inventory and can ship upon receipt of a purchase order.

Operation is simple and safe and is achieved by rotating drives or media over the circular erase zone located in the center of the degausser. This provides complete and thorough erasure of any previously recorded information.
